'Blockchain Payment Tokens in the Light of Data Protection Law': Blockchain payment tokens are one of the most significant applications of blockchain technology. However, the compatibility of blockchain payment tokens with the applicable data protection regulations is de lege lata associated with numerous uncertainties. This study analyses blockchain payment tokens from a data protection perspective and points out the existing tensions with the applicable European data protection law.
